Canon: Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness. Immediately at the start of the ending of Etna Mode. But she cycled through the main game first so she knows what happened. She is using her cameo game statistics though because fuck not having Evilities and an A in Gun!

Personality: Etna is a true demoness. Selfish, Manipulative, Sadistic, Malicious, everything you would want your student at Netherworld Academy to be! Except that she’s not evil.

That’s right, Etna is not evil. Now this isn’t to say she’s nice or moral, though she does have a code of Ethics (which will be described in great detail later), but Etna never takes action because it is the evil or demonic thing to do, it always serves a higher purpose (even if said higher purpose is her own amusement~).

As an extension to her not being evil, she is actually capable of great compassion, comraderie and even friendship, though her friends always need to beware betrayal, it’s the demon way after all! Though Etna isn’t so fickle as to betray someone randomly, she has to GET something out of it (even if that something is satisfaction).

Though Etna treats her friends with a margin of respect, her vassals are something different entirely. Now this isn’t to say she holds them any ill will, simply that she understands that a vassal’s job is to do whatever their master wants, and that those who do not should be strictly punished. Now she isn’t one to reward good behavior, responding to her every whim is her vassal’s job after all, but she is aware of her vassals feelings and will treat the ones who get on her good side with a bit of friendliness... that is until she needs someone to stab them for whatever reason.

While you might say this is clearly Etna being a tyrannical dictator, the fact is that this is actually part of her code of ethics. She has been in their shoes before, she’s been a vassal and when she is a vassal, at least for a leader she holds any respect for, she treats them the same way. Now this isn’t to say she is docile or will let her overlord get away with stupidity, no she is the first one to point out when her overlord is doing something dumb, but when push comes to shove, she will side with them through anything, it is after all, a vassal’s job to do so.

Of course this also leads to another aspect of her code of ethic: might makes right. Which isn’t to say that the more powerful person is always correct or justified, but that it doesn’t matter whether they are right or justified, they are more powerful and that’s what counts. This means that she no longer considers herself a vassal of anyone who is less powerful than she is and also that she will reign in her vassals with force without thinking twice. It’s just the way it’s done.

As “ethical” as Etna is... she is still a demon at heart and can be hypocritical when it suits her fancy, particularly in regards to her prinny squad, though most of her hypocritical tantrums are a result of her anger.

Etna has a temper, she also is vengeful and can be very petty at times as well. Though she knows when to take things seriously and when not to, when she doesn’t need to take things seriously she will often blow things out of proportion, like running away and going on a revenge spree over stolen desserts. If asked about it she would simply respond with something like, “they were mine! He has no right to it!” And that would be the end of it as far as she was concerned. She would then go take all of his desserts from the refrigerator and eat them. Because she can and wants them.

Evilities: Etna is a very round fighter capable of fighting in melee using Spears and Axes and at range using a Gun. She is also a team player who is good at fighting alongside allies. Beyond this she is a skilled liar, manipulator, businesswoman... basically if a Netherworld Honor Student is expected to do it, she is at least decent at it, and she is excellent at it most of the time.

Beyond this, Etna knows loads about the netherworld denizens, she keeps up to date on all the tabloids and watches the real news too! She also watches a lot of Anime, reads comic books and takes part in all sorts of media, as a result her knowledge of stories, legends and rumors is top notch, particularly knowledge about people and locations.

Dominant Smile: Etna has a squad of Prinnies all of her own! They call her Master Etna and are terrified into submission completely loyal to her, even more so than to many demons who are technically more powerful than she is. In fact, she is so legendary for this that her mere presence threatens them worse than the enemies to bolster the strength of all prinnies around her, even those who she holds no particular sway over!

Ecstacy: She builds up power (experience) faster when in a team attack! Not particularly useful in an RP do to the lack of experience points, she still keeps this Evility because it’s hers dammit!

Sadism: Etna likes hurting things, especially things that haven’t been hurt yet. And she is very good at it~!

Inventory: Longinus: After using it in the first cycle, Etna had it in her inventory when she started her own game so she figured it was hers! Decided to keep it around despite there being other better weapons in her later cameos because it had sentimental value. Spent a lot of time reloading to get the ABSOLUTE BEST LONGINUS SHE COULD... but has yet to item world it because it was more than powerful enough to get her through her own mode without any difficulty.
Beyond this she also has a Legendary Horse Weiner, a Legendary Mahogany’s Brain and a Legendary Hercules Body, because all the other one’s she stole were unfortunately equipped on other people. She also has a large amount of HL (enough that buying normal items in the shop is nothing to her) and she has the entire soundtrack to the original game!

She also has a huge number of random pointless items she doesn’t care about that she has gathered from various Bonus Ranks. They annoy her more than anything, though they are useful for bribing the council.
